Rural Ireland, 1950. During a simpler time when community was the center of life, a young boy learns first hand that comhar na gcorharsan (neighbor helping neighbor) never means more than at Christmastime! Filled with charming characters, beautiful traditional and original songs, and moving reminders about what makes this time of year so special, Irish Theatre of Chicago is delighted to offer TWO concert performances of this rollicking, joyous, and family-friendly new Christmas musical that will start your season with tapping toes and a heart full of holiday cheer! |
With Lyndsey Bentham, Jeff Christian*, Barbara Figgins*, Megon McDonough, casey Morris, Si Osborne, Daniel Patrick Sullivan, Sean Michael Sullivan, and Sarafina Vecchio
DECEMBER 7th & 8th only at The Irish American Heritage Center!
A MESSAGE FROM OUR INTERIM ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
As the Irish Theatre Of Chicago heads into its 25th Anniversary season, I'm excited to share our future plans with all of you!
This season we continue our ongoing partnership with The University of Notre Dame by bringing PINEAPPLE to the DeBartolo Arts Center this November, followed by the world premiere of the charming family-friendly Christmas show (and ITC's first-ever musical production!) PARCEL FROM AMERICA at the Irish American Heritage Center. In February 2020, we return to Indiana with DOUBT, followed by the Chicago premiere of PINEAPPLE here at The Den in March! We'll also continue our annual THREE PINTS free staged reading series in January and February at Chief O'Neill's, and will be throwing a fantastic 2020/2021 Season Announcement Gala there in April! In the meantime, ITC is thrilled to be attending the Dublin Theatre Festival this fall (courtesy of an anonymous donor's gift to our Play Development program, and a generous grant by supprter Leslie Spiller), as part of our ongoing mission to build bridges between Irish playwrights and Chicago audiences, bringing you the best . We hope to see you all in the coming months - YOU are why we're here, and why we do what we do! - J.R. Sullivan |
