OUR FATHER
A MIDWEST PREMIERE
March 16 – May 25, 2009 written by M.G. Stephens directed by Jeff Christian “Be glad. The old man’s dead.” Through the fumes of beer and whiskey appear Fats, Bones, Beaky, Mumbles, Psycho, and Oscar. The gloves are off and everyone has a story to share about dear, dead Dad. Set in an actual bar, the audience pulls up a chair and a jar, as booze, insults, poetry, and comedy fly in equal measure, and the portrait of “Our father: narrow-minded, wide-girthed, drunk as a stone” emerges with brutal ly funny force and acerbic comic flavor.
