Irish Theatre Of Chicago continues its annual - free to the public - THREE PINTS Staged Reading Series, presenting fresh new works in an intimate atmosphere, inviting feedback and insight while enjoying a pint with our friends and supporters. Performed by members of the ITC ensemble with select guest artists, the festival is held at Chief O'Neill's Pub.
NO ROMANCE by Nancy Harris
Ac triptych of one-acts exploring the themes of love and bonds of affection, playwright Harris takes us on a journey across the Emerald Isle to examine the far-reaching ripples of human interactions and how interwoven are all of our threads. Hailed as "bracingly witty, alert and incisive"
CORKTOWN '57 by John Fazakerley
Family dynamics and political ire mix it up in CORKTOWN 57, playwright John Fazakerley's powerful family drama about the IRA operating in Philadelphia's Irish quarter and the split when a British officer shows up in America, using his unwitting brother to open secret negotiations with a moderate IRA commander --- who happens to be his cousin. Events spiral out of control resulting in a tragedy on a Shakespearean scale.
